Insurance for your yoga practice protects against bodily injury claims, negligence, trip-and-fall claims, and other similar claims. Whether you work out of your home, at a studio or gym, at the YMCA, or at your local park, your yoga insurance policy should cover you; make sure it does before purchasing a policy.

Perhaps you just earned your yoga certification and are a brand new yoga teacher. Don't let your excitement blind you from the fact that you will need to buy yoga insurance. Whether you are a self-employed yoga instructor or you work for a yoga studio, in both cases you will need insurance to cover the unexpected. This is especially true if you are teaching beginner yoga classes because these students are (no offense to anyone) typically the least physically flexible and get hurt easier than do advanced yoga students. Also, a lot of inexperienced exercisers do not understand that there will be some pain involved when you first start working out and may try to wrongfully blame this period of discomfort on your yoga instruction.

Even if you only teach advanced yoga, you will still need yoga insurance coverage because anyone can get hurt at anytime. You are never exempt from getting sued by someone, so it is best you remain protected no matter the skill level of the students you instruct. Yoga can be quite dangerous if not practiced correctly and you as the yoga instructor needs to exercise caution at all times no matter how good your students may be.
